Poaching: Poachers stopped in the Ticino Park, a rifle was seized
Turbigo (MI). The Provincial Police of Milan arrested two poachers on the night of 26.02.2010 on board an off-road vehicle in the Ticino Park, in the southern area of the Turbigo power plant, an area where the presence of wild boars and roe deer is high. The two men (AC and BE), in their forties, from Legnano, caught in possession of a rifle, were reported for illegal introduction of weapons into a protected area, of unauthorized hunting.
In the car there was a night vision device, binoculars and a powerful 30/06 caliber carbine with a useful range of up to a thousand meters, loaded, on which a telescope and a light beam pointer were mounted to illuminate the prey. The material seized is worth around 10 thousand euros. In the event of conviction, the two poachers risk up to two months in prison and a fine of 4000 euros, as well as the confiscation of what has been seized.
The anti-poaching operation took place due to the intervention of the territorial command of Legnano in collaboration with the agents of the Ticino Park after the traffic during the night of off-road vehicles from which gunshots were exploded had been reported in the previous days.
