September XNUMXst: pre-opening starts
On the occasion of pre-opening of the hunt for the turtledove species scheduled for today 1 September in some regions, Dr. Michele Sorrenti, Coordinator of theFedercaccia Studies and Research Office, shares some considerations on the subject. Here's what he said about it: "Eight Italian regions will open the hunt for African turtledove with real-time monitoring systems of the sampling, as required by the National Management Plan. In the absence of this plan, last year due to appeals to the TAR only a couple of regions managed to open the hunt, unlike this 2022".
Community decisions
Smiling he added: "Federcaccia realizes the novelty and the difficulties that this type of system will cause on many hunters. Furthermore, the association understands someone's anger, however we must look at this turn in a positive sense because it was the only way to reopen the turtle dove hunt. EU member states, including Italy, have rejected the proposal to block the levy for this year, so it is imperative that these countries comply with the correct levy monitoring system".
The future of turtle dove hunting
Not missing Some doubts"The system still needs to be tested and above all improved, in the future it will develop but it has currently served to win some appeals on the subject, allowing to exercise a passion on a traditional species. As problematic as they are, we view the new systems with optimism. We recommend cooperating with collection of the wings of the dove, as suggested in the last few hours by the association. Good pre-opening".
