The final standings
Il Propeller World Championship, which ended yesterday evening in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, has given the Italian delegation led by DT Giuseppe Rodenghi numerous successes and satisfactions. The commitment and desire to win of our compatriots have been rewarded with numerous honorary awards that once again bring the name of our country high on the international stage. In the Open rankings, Italy climbs to the third step of the podium thanks to Roberto Proietti from Terni who puts the bronze around his neck after an intense four-way shoot-off. After having broken 28 propellers during the regular series, our compatriot in the play-off hit another 9 before having to surrender to the American Macie Alexis Page, first in the shoot-off and second in the general rankings.
The most precious metal
Highest of all in his Category was the veteran Aldo Vignoli from Fiesole (FI) who with 24 propellers plus 3 tiebreakers returned home with the Title and the medal of the most precious metal. The gold is also Italian among the Masters thanks to Mauro Casalini from Monticelli d'Ongina (PC), World Champion with 22 propellers plus 4 tiebreakers.
Team play
The team work of the Italian propeller team was also rewarded. The Senior team formed by Bruno Tallarico, Umberto Piccolo and Sebastiano Molinari, with a total of 19 propellers, placed second ahead of the French team and behind the Great Britain team. Our Veterans also won top honors in the Team competition, with Aldo Vignoli, Andrea Martignoni and Giuseppe Impallomeni climbing to the top step of the podium with 26 propellers ahead of the Great Britain teams and the hosts Egypt. The Masters Mauro Andreini, Mauro Casalini and DT Giuseppe Rodenghi took bronze thanks to their 19 propellers that put them on the podium behind the Egyptian team and Great Britain. Too bad for the Man team, which ranked fifth with 51 propellers (source: FITAV).
