Actions to coordinate
The Municipality of Terni has also signed a memorandum of understanding in the Prefecture to coordinate the actions aimed at managing situations of particular criticality for public safety deriving from the presence, in urban and sub-urban areas, of wildlife and especially wild boars. The mayor Leonardo Latini and the local police commissioner Giovanna Scarcia took part in the meeting. “The commitment of the Local Police Environmental Section has always been maximum and constant, responding to every report from citizens.
The need for coordination
However, the presence of wildlife in the city, especially in peripheral areas, unfortunately more and more frequent, can pose a danger to public safety, causing car accidents”, underlines councilor Scarcia. The interventions to be implemented therefore require coordination between several entities and with the police forces, hence the need for the protocol signed today in the Prefecture by the Municipalities concerned to manage the operating procedures.
