An increasing figure
The Province of Mantua is confirmed one of the most "appreciated" by nutrias. As made known by the data released by the local Lombardy authority, over 2023 thousand specimens were captured throughout 52 (52318 to be precise), while the kilograms disposed of well exceeded 211 thousand. This is an increase, slight but still an increase, compared to what was recorded during the previous year.
Catches to improve
The differences, again according to the Province, are due to the better containment activities developed by the various municipalities. Those who did not guarantee adequate catches were invited to take action in this regard. Another important discussion to make in this case is the economic one, given that the Lombardy Region has provided very specific funding specifically in relation to nutria.
Economic contributions
Last year the contributions were equal to 2,52 euros for each individual animal, while now we are dealing with an amount that is even double: specifically, we are talking about just over 5 euros per nutria killed. The contributions in question will then be paid out via various payment methods over the next few weeks.
