La Province of Trento has decided to regulate the control of wild boars in this area even more strictly. The goal is obviously to reduce the number of ungulates. As he pointed out Julia Zanotelli, Provincial Councilor for Agriculture and Hunting: "Not only bears and wolves make life difficult for breeders and farmers, there are also wild boars to which the new discipline aimed at their control approved this morning by the Executive.
The new discipline is the result of a joint work which involved both the agricultural component, through the trade unions, is the component of hunters, through the managing body of hunting in the reserves. With this new discipline, which did not register critical observations by theIspra, we provide new and additional tools to make the control action even more effective against the wild boar which, locally, it produces really heavy damages for the agriculture of our territory.
At this point, we appeal to the sense of responsibility of all the components, with the aim of being able to limit the spread of the species as much as possible and contain its evolutionary dynamics ”. The changes concern the simplification of administrative procedures, upgrading of controllers, new zoning and more freedom for hunters.
