How the resources will be allocated
The second Lombardy Region tender dedicated to 'biosafety' interventions with funds to prevent contagion and the spread of the disease will be operational from 31 January 2024. A part of these resources , equal to 800.000 euros, will be dedicated to companies that, starting from 7 January 2022, had independently carried out the construction of fences against ASF".
Beneficiary realities
The beneficiaries of the intervention are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) active in primary agricultural production and dedicated to pig breeding. Applications for participation can be submitted from January 31st to March 29th on the regional portal. “Among the interventions that can be financed – continues Beduschi – are included those for the purchase and installation of fixed anti-wild boar fences, the creation of filter areas to allow clear separations between dirty and clean areas on the farm and to install automated structures for the disinfection of vehicles".
Amount of aid
The interventions for the new installations must have a total cost of between 3.000 and 300.000 euros per single beneficiary. Including installation and design costs. The Lombardy Region will assign a direct non-repayable grant equal to 80% of the eligible cost. For fences built starting from January 2022, the maximum amount of aid is 25.000 euros. “The Lombardy Region – reiterates the councilor – continues its efforts to guarantee the most important national pig production chain. A reality that has over 4,4 million animals in our territory, especially in the provinces of Brescia, Mantua and Cremona." “We continue to support – he concludes – the work of our farmers who in recent months, starting from the province of Pavia, have had to face a very difficult period. Operators and companies for whom we have obtained recognition from the Government also for the indirect damages suffered after the virus entered their territory" (source: Lombardy Region).
