Confindustria of Central Sardinia denunciation: the absolute ban on the export of Sardinian pork and their derivatives without any derogation even with respect to certified farms. The decision was taken in the latest provision issued on 11 March by theProject Unit of the Region, the operational arm for the fight against African swine fever in Sardinia, which has maintained in force without any changes for the years 2022 and 2023 all the limitations already present for farms, for processing activities and for exports.
The ban on introducing Sardinian meats to the approved export establishments even when they ensure complete separation of the processing cycle. Confindustria Sardinia Central thunders: this decision is "an all-out defeat for the island and yet another disappointment, also because given the epidemiological situation for a good time everyone had expected a relaxation of the restrictions ”.
“Indeed we continue to accept the inequalities of treatment with other areas of Europe where - the association claims - even in the presence of an important epidemiological situation of circulation of the virus of African swine fever, systems have been found to not completely block the circulation of production ”. This is why Confindustria wants to bring forward an appeal before the European Court of Justice "To protect us from the enormous damage suffered in all these years".
