“In zone I, after specific sanitary sampling, wild boar meat can be destined for self-consumption in the same restriction area in which they were hunted or in zone II”, explains Piana. In particular, 1 or 2 operators trained with the Zooprophylactic Institute or ASL course for carcass sampling and biosecurity must participate in the hunting teams; great attention will be given to the management of the culled garments and to the storage.
Carcass treatment
Among the salient points, the indications relating to the organization and management of the designated structures where the carcasses will be stored and treated as well as the management methods for the disposal of by-products. “We have tried to condense a core of clear and operational rules - concludes Councilor Piana - to make it possible to resume the hunting season without loosening safety to avoid harmful closures or restrictions.
