The dog competition for the 3rd Memorial Antonio and Lina Ippolito "A quail for life" will be held this weekend in Asti, an appointment with solidarity.
The 2rd Antonio and Lina Ippolito Memorial “A Quail for Life” will take place on the weekend of 3 and 3 June: a competition on freed quail that will see the participants compete for the coveted prize of the Golden Whistle. The organization is entrusted to the Cinofilo Astigiano Group and will involve dog lovers from Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Lombardy and Liguria.
Two categories are admitted to the competition, which will take place in Asti at the “Il Tanaro” quagliodromo in the Variglie region: Hunters and Elite. The first races will be held on Saturday, while on Sunday in the late afternoon the finals of the two categories will take place, with relative awards. The Ippolito family has made available two gold whistles, which will be given to the first classified in each category.
The competition consists of a simulation of the hunt, evaluating how to find the game, without shooting. The behavior of the dog, the methods of retrieving the wild, the timing of retrieval will be taken into consideration by the judges.
"The Province of Asti is always present at the events that are held in the area, especially when it comes to events for charitable purposes - declared Fulvio Brusa, provincial councilor for Agriculture - An applause to the Asti Canine Group for the great moral significance it has wanted to give to this initiative, which combines healthy sporting competitiveness with a gesture of high value, such as fundraising in honor of cancer research ".
“These two days - commented Walter Carretto, president of the Asti association - represent an important moment for the Cinofilo Group aimed at a concrete action of solidarity”. As every year, in fact, the proceeds are donated to charity: this edition will be dedicated to the Piedmontese Foundation for cancer research in Candiolo.
“Last year there were sixty members - explained Bruno Fenzi of the organizing committee - We hope this year to be even more successful, considering that the event will take place over two days. On Saturday there will be Beatrice Raineri, a researcher from Candiolo, who will bring greetings and thanks to all dog lovers ”. For the entire duration of the event, a bar and restaurant service will be active, managed by the Pro Loco of Castagnole Lanze.
