Benelli Raffaello Crio in Cal.28: Benelli chooses to combine a small caliber inertial operation shotgun to create a shotgun dedicated to the sporty and refined hunter.
Benelli presents the del Raphael Crio 28, one of the lightest semi-automatic 28 gauge inertial operation on the market. The technology of the Raffaello 28 is contained in the inertial closure with a rotating bolt, revised and designed in order to accommodate the new ammunition.
To achieve these characteristics, it was necessary to revise the high-density heavy alloy spring guide pin, which saw Benelli being one of the first manufacturers to use it on one of its rifles.
The use of this alloy allows to achieve a fundamental inertial mass for the operation of the rifle in a smaller volume. Consequently, the overall dimensions of the connecting rod spring guide tube are reduced and this allows the stock to be lightened, with the aim of reducing the total weight of the weapon, giving it a good balance.
All this allowed the Benelli to realize the Raphael 28, a rifle that weighs only kg. 2,4, so as to be the lightest of the semiautomatics in gauge 28. The woods of the Raffaello 28 are in walnut, preserved by the Elegance System coating, which optimizes both aesthetics and resistance.
We come to the technical characteristics: the Inertial semiautomatic Benelli with variable geometry trigger group it has an Ergal carcass finish, matt black anodized; the length of the stock from the trigger / deviation is 360 mm; the crease at the heel is 55, while the crease at the nose pad is 36,5. With a AirCell recoil pad, Raphael Crio 28 it has a tank capacity of 2 standard rounds and a transverse safety with a red ready-to-fire warning.
That of Benelli can be considered a real challenge that seemed impossible until recently, but has been successfully overcome by combining the best operating system with the smallest but intriguing of calibers. What strikes those who wear the 28 gauge Raffaello is certainly the lightness and ergonomics.
The choice of Benelli to lighten a rifle up to 2,4 kg could affect the recoil, but the house of Urbino has found a solution. The aforementioned characteristic for the “Air Cell” buttplate, created with material with high impact absorption capacity, limits the apex of the recoil on the shoulder.
The technological innovations of the Italian arms manufacturers are recognized and imitated all over the world. Benelli, without a doubt, is one of the manufacturers that brings made in Italy high in the hunting gun sector.
