The introduction in recent months of the first Boar control plan a Ravenna it had obtained the applause of the farmers' associations, satisfied with the acceptance of their requests and the possibility given to farmers to stem the damage caused by the proliferation of wild animals and raids on their land. But obviously the measure adopted it was not shared by everyone since at the end of July an appeal was filed with the TAR of Emilia Romagna against the Province of Ravenna to request cancellation after suspension; appeal which will see the Viale dei Caduti body appear in court through the lawyers Livia Molducci and Amalia Cavallo.
The subject of the dispute is the Plan which was also introduced for the first time in Ravenna on an experimental basis and which allows, on the one hand, self-protection for farmers damaged by the passage of wild boars and on the other, allows stem the proliferation of wild animals. A measure that has repercussions that are not limited to the interest of farmers, in particular those of the hilly and foothills area; wild boar specimens have in fact been sighted with increasing frequency even in the lowland areas, with consequent risks linked to the spread of swine fever and those for the road traffic: if the accidents involving ungulates in the Ravenna area between 2012 and 2018 mainly involved roe deer and fallow deer, on 4 occasions (out of the 72 ascertained accidents) collisions with wild boars occurred.
There is no doubt, however, that to suffer the consequences of their proliferation the most both the agricultural sector. For this reason, in application with regional legislation, the Province has also adopted a wild boar control plan, whose implementation sees the Provincial Police at the forefront. Plan that is added to the killings related to hunting in selection and hunting activity and that for this reason the body of square of the Fallen intended to regulate. There are in fact peculiarities that distinguish self-defense from actual hunting; first of all the absence of limitations in terms of times and days to implement the first (provided that the owner or tenant of the property requests authorization from the Provincial Police), while there are specific requirements such as the possession of a hunting license and in particular the ownership of that for wild boar.
Under these conditions, direct farmers can intervene directly in defense of their productions. Unlike the farmer (or the employee or family member) without qualifications, must ask for the help of the coadjutors (belts). In fact, the objective is to avoid that too many armed people are present on the territory at the same time, who may not know the area (for this reason the authorized beltlai must be enrolled in the teams that can operate on the territory). A measure that also pursues the protection of public safety and which has found almost everyone in agreement. Almost, in fact (Courier Romagna).
