You cannot take permission to sports shooting because gambles, but you have to check who he goes to. This was the opinion of the Regional Administrative Court of Umbria on the appeal of a citizen against the revocation of the permit of detention and use of rifle for sport shooting. The Police Headquarters had denied the renewal of the permit "for police precedents in the field of gambling dating back more than ten years ago".
Citizens had appealed against this decision: never abused weapons and his life was beyond reproach, except for that gambling incident. For administrative judges, the violation "of the provisions relating to gambling halls and gambling halls" dates back to ten years ago and it would not be correct to use it in "Assessment of the reliability of a subject to carry arms", in the face of the judgment "on the personality of the subject".
For this reason it was decided to accept the appeal, but with some marginal considerations: the Police Headquarters is advised to reconsider the provision on the basis of other elements on the applicant's standard of living: in particular the two road checks during which the man was found in the car with "People burdened with police records for crimes of fraud, drug possession, illegal carrying of weapons and ban on expatriation". Here, perhaps the Police Headquarters could focus on these elements in order not to renew the sports shooting permit, the judges conclude (Perugia Today).
