Hunting research
Bird migration and the importance of knowledge, from rings to satellite radio transmitters and wildlife eco-radar is the title of the conference held last August 31st in Taglio di Po (RO) in the beautiful setting of the Regional Land Reclamation Museum of Ca' Vendramin. The event, organized by Federcaccia Porto Tolle with the commitment of its managers and especially by the president Antonio Banin, and by Federcaccia di Rovigo and moderated by the provincial president of FIdC Alessandro Venturini, was the occasion to talk about the research carried out and future of the Federation illustrated by Carlo Romanelli president of the UCIM sector.
No to penalties for hunters
Rings, transmitters, wildlife radars are essential for a modern approach to hunting calendars that is not only penalizing for those who practice hunting. And in this context, the role of hunters in favor of the community was also remembered by the Councilor for Hunting of the Veneto Region Cristiano Corazzari and by the Councilor for Hunting of the Municipality of Porto Tolle, Tania Bertaggia. Of particular importance, along the same lines and on the importance of the revision of the Italian Key Concepts from which the opening and closing dates for the various species and therefore the hunting calendars derive, was also the intervention of Pietro Salvadori of the Directorate of Agri-environment, programming and management of fisheries and wildlife hunting of Veneto and of Oscar Stella, National Councilor of the Presidency of Federcaccia.
A decisive action
The conference was strongly desired by the director of the FIdC National Research Office Lorenzo Carnacina, who recalled how many of the researches carried out today by Federcaccia, such as the equipment of woodcocks with satellite transmitters, started right in Veneto and underlined how important it is for hunters to take incisive action to defend our passion and not a mediation that is often downwards. The day ended with a speech by the new president of Federcaccia Veneto Emiliano Galvanetto, who also underlined the importance of these initiatives and future meetings with hunters in the region. An interesting meeting and a beautiful day, where hunting and its research certainly come out strengthened and hunters reassured (source: FIDC).
