Rti Arms Mora Full Power 5,5 Caliber: The High-Powered Bull-Pup PCP

In Slovenia, "Mora" means "nightmare": it is one of the spirits of ancient Slavic mythology that took the form of a beautiful, evil woman. The Mora rifle from the Slovenian Rti Arms is not evil at all, but it is certainly beautiful. It is a PCP (pre-compressed air) rifle with a very modern look and a bull-pup configuration, meaning the action and feeding system are located behind the trigger. It is therefore a short rifle, 885 mm overall, with a 600 mm barrel, a Lothar Walter RPB 1:16" with a lightweight choke, customized for Rti, fully free-floating and adjustable or fixed, depending on preference. The balanced integral barrel guard is made of carbon fiber and also functions as a suppressor. Under the sleeve, the 750 cc tank has a diameter of 60 mm.

Modern multi-caliber

The structure is modern and solid, suitable for five calibers with kits (available for 4,5, 5,5, 6,35, 7,62, and 9 mm calibers). The importer Rasport provided me with a rifle prepared for the 5,5. The basic chassis is made of aluminum, equipped with holes compatible with the M-lok system, which allow for the attachment of various accessories. This option is also available under the trigger guard, and the lower part of the stock also has holes for a monopod or other possible accessory.

Mora is designed for maximum customization and precision. The receiver incorporates a 125cc plenum and a newly developed assisted valve: the air supply closes faster, ensuring high energy at low pressures and greater efficiency. External valve adjustment also allows for optimized performance. Depending on the weight and geometry of the projectiles, the best combination can easily be found. The Witness Holes system on the surface of the plenum that forms the buttstock is a very clever feature: each internal O-ring corresponds to an external hole, making it easy to identify the location of any air leaks. The entire valve assembly is also designed for quick and easy removal without the need to disassemble other parts of the rifle.

Try it at Gunbank

The clever design of the 19-round magazine allows it to be flipped over, making it suitable for both left- and right-handed users. The side "T" cocking lever is convenient, and the grip is AR15-style. The first and second stages of the trigger are easily adjustable up to 200 grams.

The ambidextrous cheek piece is height-adjustable for optics, and the buttpad is non-slip rubber, although recoil was found to be negligible. The weight is 4.400 grams without the optics or Picatinny rail for the optics.

Mora comes with a high-strength hard case with wheels for transport, a foam interior and plenty of space for accessories.

The 10-shot groups at 100 meters with the two pellet types, a 30,5-gr Zan slug .218 and a 28,55-gr JSB Match Exact jumbo monster .218, were concentrated in 45-50 mm with muzzle velocities of 286 and 302 m/sec, respectively. With the heavier pellet, the energy produced by the Mora Full Power is therefore around 90 joules. The shooting session at the Gunbank range in Lograto (BS) proved particularly enjoyable due to the rifle's handling, stability, and effective accuracy, as well as the trigger management and the remarkable consistency of the compressed air delivery. It is a very modern rifle, offering maximum adjustment and customization options. It is not an economical choice, but it is definitely an excellent choice, allowing you to be competitive on the benchrest and in field target.
