SABATTI SAPPHIRE THUMBHOLE is the batting rifle bolt action characterized by the butt with an ergonomic grip to allow a firmer, more stable and secure hold, especially in driven hunts. The action of the rifle is obtained from a block of Ergal 55 and is originally made with two bases Picatinny integrated, to allow easier mounting of the bindings. The shutter, with three front tenon closure, is equipped with a floating head to allow a more secure support, and has a remarkable fluidity of sliding.
The rifle barrel, interchangeable, made of steel, is made with Multiradial rifling (MRR® - Multi Radial Rifling) where two different rays alternate in order to slightly deform the geometry of the bullet, but without carving it, guaranteeing a better concentration of the shot patterns, a longer duration over time, fewer copper deposits and a greater speed of the bullet.
The muzzle is made, as standard, with a thread and relative thread cover ring, to allow the assembly of a possible muzzle brake. The removable magazine is positioned at the bottom, and is interchangeable according to the different calibers used. The breech, produced with steel, is cemented and tempered thanks to a special thermal process, also used for the bolt head, which considerably improves the hardness of the surface.
The carbine bolt action Saphire Thumbhole is set up with two different types, interchangeable, of trigger release, which can be easily replaced by a specialized gunsmith: the standard trigger (with a trigger weight of 1,2 Kg.) Or the engraver (with a standard trigger weight of 1,5 kg which is reduced to 0,250 kg by inserting the sensitization device). The safety is the traditional two-position one with the bolt lock.
The stock can be in synthetic material of standard type (mod. SAPHIRE SYN.) Or of type thumbhole (mod. SAPHIRE THUMBHOLE) as we see it now, or in selected quality wood (mod. SAPHIRE).

- To change the caliber of the hunting rifle with stock thumbhole you need to purchase a second replacement barrel.
- If the caliber of the second replacement barrel is not included in the same group as the original caliber of the rifle, some or all of the following parts must also be replaced: magazine, magazine box, bolt head.
