The SABATTI SAPHIRE THUMBHOLE is a bolt-action driven hunt rifle featuring an ergonomic stock for a firmer, more stable, and safer grip, especially for driven hunts. The rifle's action is machined from a block of Ergal 55 and is factory-built with two integrated Picatinny bases for easier mounting of mounts. The bolt, with a three-lug front locking system, features a floating head for a more secure fit and is remarkably smooth.
The rifle's interchangeable barrel, made of steel, is made with Multiradial Rifling (MRR® – Multi Radial Rifling ) where two different radii alternate in order to slightly deform the geometry of the bullet, but without notching it, ensuring better concentration of the shot patterns, greater durability over time, less copper deposits and a higher bullet velocity.
The muzzle is made, as standard, with a thread and relative thread cover ring, to allow the assembly of a possible muzzle brake. The removable magazine is positioned at the bottom, and is interchangeable according to the different calibers used. The breech, produced with steel, is cemented and tempered thanks to a special thermal process, also used for the bolt head, which considerably improves the hardness of the surface.
The Saphire Thumbhole bolt-action rifle is equipped with two different, interchangeable trigger types, which can be easily replaced by a specialized gunsmith: the standard trigger (with a trigger pull of 1,2 kg) or the set trigger (with a standard trigger pull of 1,5 kg, reduced to 0,250 kg by inserting the sensitization device). The safety is the traditional two-position one with the bolt block.
The stock can be made of standard synthetic material (mod. SAPHIRE SYN.) or of the thumbhole type (mod. SAPHIRE THUMBHOLE) as we see it now, or of selected quality wood (mod. SAPHIRE).

- To change the caliber of the hunting rifle with stock thumbhole you need to purchase a second replacement barrel.
- If the caliber of the second replacement barrel is not included in the same group as the original caliber of the rifle, some or all of the following parts must also be replaced: magazine, magazine box, bolt head.
