Sporting: a recent field of skeet shooting where the technique to break the clay target thrown by the machines located in the pit and the dexterity to catch this target thrown by other machines suitably placed to simulate the fledging of various wild birds or the hare run are merged . The systems can be of two types: with a shooter in the stalls of the classic platform or traveling along a path traced in the green where the different launches, more or less demanding, meet, even if the simulation of the flight of the quail, to cite an example, deceives and easily takes away a too relaxed shot. In short, this specialty is just what it takes to keep hunters in training and to arouse some slightly different emotions to the trap or skeet pedanists who have become, with time and skills, so technical and therefore easily dedicated to the highest scores.
The specific purpose has produced an equally specialized shotgun and all the major manufacturers carry a Sporting over-under on their list, so the Sabatti that, in the splendid and constant growth in the world of rifled barrel, has not forgotten its historical origins and, even less, those of the second half of the past century when smooth barrels were the broad base of work. There was a need to reconstitute and modernize the weapons fleet of hunters who had returned to their hunting art in that fruitful period of reconstruction.

We therefore present the particular model of the House of Gardone, premising that the over-and-under is used in the specialty, technically adequate to the need for aiming and equipped with the total safety offered by all the overhead doors when the barrels are lowered: just like in all platforms. and therefore also on itinerant routes. The first glance reveals a structure of substance where each component takes on a size and a mass suited to the dual purpose: of strength for duration over time and of recoil absorption.
The project completely carried out in the company sees the action frame obtained for milling operations from a solid alloy steel obtained by forging: high and conveniently thick walls, well-modeled double breasts from which the lateral thickenings start to reinforce the critical angle between the face and side, inside with the classic half-pins, reinforcement struts on the bottom, intermediate crosspiece on which the two parallel tenons placed at the bottom and rear in the breech monobloc insist, according to the Gardonese layout.

From this primary element of the speargun we also obtain the trunnions, the sliding seats of the shanks of the extractors and of the mechanisms that activate the automatic ejectors and the half-plates that rest on the two center lines of the table given by the thickness of the receiver walls. The design and machining on numerical control machines guarantee constant precision while limiting costs: the mortises of the tenons, for example, are obtained in the open, then closed by the lower cover which extends into the bridge where the trigger is inserted. Always instructive a look at the walls of the monobloc and at the hinge of the receiver, where the crosshead is positioned: the streaks certify the correct imbasculation and the right draft of the speargun, prerequisites for a long operating life.
Barrels, stock and trigger
The conventional caliber for the specialty is the 12/76 capable with today's loads of heavy shot weights, although with the 70 mm shells the games are played with excellent chances of success, thanks to the greater speed of the charge itself: especially in traversoni this component reveals its importance by requiring less advance. The 76 cm barrels (other sizes on request) are inserted into the monobloc and fixed by the two lateral ribs: the low-melting point alloy welding avoids interference on the molecular structure of the steel. A large ventilated and shaded rib leads the eye to the red fiber viewfinder. There are five interchangeable chokes of the type extended supplied in a special plastic box together with the key for assembly: except the one with maximum closure ( Full *) are all usable with steel shot. 
The walnut stock bears the finish optowood which, thanks to laser interventions, sees the aesthetic effect of the original veins amplified. Take care of the shapes with the pistol grip with wide development and consistent section to facilitate the grip on a greater surface with the more open hand; the mobile back with two small screws drowned in the wood is very useful: the eye is thus level with the line of sight; the thick recoil pad in soft black rubber dampens the recoil sensation already well tempered by the mass of the rifle equal to about 3.500 grams. The fore-end with recessed button for the release from the rod group offers a firm and decisive grip for the swing thanks to the round and well-developed section of its lower part, which falls into the palm of the hand, and to the upper longitudinal grooves in which the fingers are position to close the grip.
Lastly, the click that activates a modified Anson & Deeley type battery: the system sees a single trigger with a button selector inserted in the slide of the safety, located on the upper tail of the rocker. The arching of the golden trigger has been well studied, thus avoiding oxidation, which can be reached by hands of various sizes and shapes; the releases are between 1550 and 1800 g, with clear detachment and without any defects whatsoever.
A few hits
Unfortunately, our conformation does not adapt to the present stock and we have limited ourselves to firing a few firm shots on the usual paper targets, with an outer circle of 70 cm and an inner 35 cm with the six peripheral segments. The different hunting cartridges that we wanted to try have not always turned out to be the best performing for drilling while the right ones for the primary purpose of this rifle, for example the Fiocchi TTtwo, and with the rifle in the hands of characters in good relationship with the plates, showed an extraordinary yield: in particular we verified, by eye and with the videos, also the different effect of the group by changing the chokes where we pass from an imperative break to a total crushing, an unequivocal sign of an excellent grouping.
Lastly, the quotation set by Sabatti starting from € 2.194,00 including VAT: we think it is suitable and attractive also for those who want to start this new and exciting sporting activity.
