They were selling captured wildlife over the internet illegally detained: two people reported by the Forestry Corps. The forestry workers of the investigative unit of the Inspectorate of Cagliari and the staff of the station of Isili (South Sardinia), following notification of the online sale of live specimens of Sardinian partridge, have carried out a targeted verification activity by simulating wanting to buy this species of game.
The investigative action was successful: at the agreed appointment the foresters showed up in plain clothes of the investigative unit that as soon as they had in hand a cage with three splendid specimens of Sardinian partridge, qualified and proceeded to seize the game and report for wildlife trade the two persons responsible for the crime. The disputed criminal offenses are those of illegal capture and trade in wildlife, punished with a penalty of up to six months' imprisonment and a fine of up to 4 thousand euros.
