Il Beccaccia Study Center of Sardinia he illustrated a Cagliari the results of the last three years of activity carried out. The talk was held in the Salis hall of the University of the island capital and was introduced by the president of the same CSB, Michele Cadeddu. The doctor then spoke Paul Pennacchini, number one of the FANBPO (the association that brings together all the national associations of European woodcock): to listen to him were fans of this subject, representatives of the category and regional institutions.
The meeting allowed to explain the Centre's program as regards the European context and the study of the bird. The data was collected thanks to the voluntary participation of Sardinian hunters and in this way we know better the state of health of the species and the characteristics that the island reserves towards the woodcock, a very useful comparison with the information coming from the rest of the country and from the other nations of the “old continent”.
The goal of the Sardinian center is to spread the awareness of hunting for the conservation of the species. Cadeddu also stressed the further involvement of regional hunters as careful observers and assistants in the management of studies and censuses.
