A prestigious hunt with Montefeltro, splendid residences in territories of rare beauty.
Hunting and love for nature have taken me around half the world in search of the perfect landscape, of pure emotion. I had the chance to meet many people, see breathtaking places and learn from cultures other than my own. All this made me alive, curious, passionate about men and the animal world. I have traveled, and still travel, constantly looking for a new hunt, a new emotion, a corner of the world to discover. My last experience was in Scotland, an ancient, elegant, hard yet sweet land. Right from the start it presented itself to me as a photo, of those that every professional would like to take: well composed, harmonious, balanced, with strong contrasts and able to tear out different feelings, admiration and desire.
The plane flight to Edinburgh was quick and pleasant. In two hours we arrived at the destination: at the airport there were those waiting for us and already taking care of us. We got into an elegant off-road vehicle and Scotland started getting tasted. The tour operator you choose is important, it alone is able to make a difference. Us, me and my wife, we decided to rely on Montefeltro: manages a surprising number of game reserves and noble estates, the staff are not only courteous, but also exquisitely professional, and above all they foresee your wishes and make you find them beautiful and ready to wait for you.
Scotland is a dream, they have been able to show it to us properly. In a short time, between a chat and another, a stop for a photo and a laugh, we reached Perthshire. There are those who have defined the most traditional corner of Scotland. I know little of this land, but I am infatuated with the hills of Perthshire as a boy.
Upon our arrival, a comfortable room in a 4-star hotel was waiting for us, everything had been studied in detail. When you are on vacation, having the opportunity to count on a perfect organization is certainly what makes those days unique and unforgettable. As often happens to me, however, at this point I have a great desire to go hunting. On this occasion I decided not to bring my rifle with me, we have in mind with my wife to spend two days after hunting around Scotland and therefore having a gun in tow on this occasion would have been inconvenient. Furthermore, I was immediately reassured by Montefeltro that it made available to me the most modern and efficient rifles that the market offers (Beretta, Benelli and Franchi), plus of course all the ammunition I need.
The organization of the hunting lodge is perfect, done naturally and with excellent camouflage. The game in front of the blind is studied in detail and the wood pigeons are not long in coming and treating. I am hunting in the best possible comfort, superb landscape, real and abundant hunting and in addition I know my wife will not be angry when I return. In fact, Montefeltro has also organized a fabulous stay for her.
In the end I am really satisfied. Scotland showed all its charm, I understood it immediately.
The landscape is changing and varied: long and strong fields of barley and rapeseed moved slowly to the rhythm of the wind, green and humid forests that we must swear are home to mythical and fairy creatures that have bewitched us, long uncultivated fields of heather and rhododendron stimulated our senses. These are the scenarios upon which an exciting variety of hunting possibilities opened up to me. They already made me want to go back. I came for the wood pigeons, but in another period I would have had the opportunity to hunt for geese and ducks, or in a wandering hunt to undermine the famous “grouse” or the fleeing white hares. Not to mention roe deer, fallow deer or the mythical Scottish red deer. Our five-day hunting and naturalistic vacation flew away too quickly and I chose to live it for the day, without too strict plans and programs. The three days of hunting were rewarding and fruitful. All ended with an excellent game bag loaded with game and eyes full of wonder.
The remaining two days, as planned, were entirely dedicated to my wife. Dundee with its cathedrals and Edinburgh with its carnival were the icing on the cake. The one in Scotland was a journey that you never forget, beautiful, elegant, full of emotions, one of those journeys that changes you, that makes you grow, that you will never stop telling.

Weapons and ammunition
You can export your shotgun to Scotland as long as you have a European card. If it is a semi-automatic shotgun, it must have the factory fixed 3-shot gearbox that cannot be removed: the weapon must fall into category C (and not B). On site you can find excellent cartridges, as well as rent our excellent shotguns
Benelli Comfort, M1 and Beccaccia models and Franchi Affinity and Feeling models. We recommend renting our rifles if you want to use low cost flights from Italy: these do not carry weapons, but have a much lower price than scheduled flights and are often direct without an intermediate stop.
Climate
Humid and windy temperate. Winter is harsh while summer is not very hot and often rainy, with temperatures rarely exceeding 30 °. Precipitation is distributed throughout the year. Generally the months from March to June are the driest, while the months from November to January are the rainiest.
