Favorable opinion
The Third Commission of the Legislative Assembly met this morning at Palazzo Cesaroni and expressed a favorable opinion on the calendars of the wild boar selection hunt; cervids and bovids. On the hunting calendar 2023/24 a hearing with hunting, agricultural and environmentalist associations is scheduled. The "Proposal for a hunting calendar for the selective hunting of WILD BOAR season 2023/2024", illustrated to the commissioners by the officials of the Regional Council, provides that "the selective hunting of the wild boar species is organized for each sex and age class according to plans sampling proposed by the territorial hunting areas and approved by the Region. Sampling is allowed from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset, even in the presence of ground covered by snow, for five days a week, subject to hunting silence on Tuesdays and Fridays. For the collection of these species, the use of non-toxic ammunition is recommended. Selective hunting of the wild boar species is authorized in the following periods: males and females of all classes, except adult females accompanied by offspring in the Conservation Areas (June 1st - September 30th 2023); boys and girls of all classes (October 1, 2023 – April 29, 2024)”.
Selection hunting
The "Proposal for a hunting calendar for the selection hunting of DEER and BOVIDE season 2023/2024" determines that "the selection hunting of roe deer, red deer and fallow deer is permitted from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset, even in the presence of ground covered by snow, for five days a week, without prejudice to hunting silence on Tuesdays and Fridays. For the collection of these species, the use of non-toxic ammunition is recommended. Selective hunting is authorised: ROE, class I males (born in 2022) and class II (born before 2022): 1st June – 15th July 2023 and 16th August – 30th September 2023; Class I and II females – young of both sexes (class 0, born in 2023): 1 January – 16 March 2024. DEER, III and IV class M (adult males): 1 October 2023 – 15 February 2024; II class M (sub-adult males): 1 October 2023 – 15 February 2024; I class M (young males): 2-31 August 2023, 1 October 2023 – 15 February 2024; Females and babies: 1st October 2023 – 16th March 2024. DAINO, Males of class I (born in 2022) and class II (born before 2022): 16th August – 30th September 2023 and 1st January – 16th March 2024; class I and II females; babies of both sexes (class 0, born in 2023): from 1 January to 16 March 2024".
Hearing convened
Finally, the Third Commission decided to convene a hearing with hunting, agricultural and environmentalist associations on the "Proposal for a HUNTING CALENDAR for the 2023 - 2024 season", which regulates in detail: species that can be hunted and related periods, prohibitions, hunting days, hunting days, game bags, stalking, hunting in mountain passes and in special protection areas, card for hunting, species control, hunting residence, natural parks and contiguous areas (source: Regional Council of Umbria).
