When to practice selective hunting
Hunting is permitted five days a week (with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays) and takes place from one hour before dawn to one hour after sunset, even in the presence of snow. The use of non-toxic ammunition is recommended. Among the main innovations, the mandatory digital hunting license for hunters under 65 who practice selection in Umbria, downloadable from the “Umbria Accesso Unico” platform. For over 65s and for those who hunt exclusively outside the region, use remains optional. “This calendar represents a balance between environmental responsibility, modernization of tools and respect for the hunting world. Selective hunting is not only a regulated practice: it is a tool for managing wildlife that, if well planned, protects ecosystems and also supports agricultural and forestry activities – underlined Councilor Simona Meloni. With the digital license, as already announced for selective wild boar hunting, we want to make the system more efficient and transparent, simplifying procedures for hunters and improving monitoring for the Region”.
