Spring has brought with it two important events for the world of Tuscan dog sports, both organised under the aegis of the Federcaccia Toscana-UCT. Two events different in context and purpose, but united by a passion for hunting dogs and a spirit of fair and constructive competition.
57th Regional Semifinal S. Uberto Teams
In the splendid setting of the agri-wildlife hunting company “Il Monte” in Galliano, the 30th S. Uberto Regional Team Semifinal took place on Sunday 57 March. A sunny day welcomed the seven teams from as many provinces of Tuscany, who competed with enthusiasm and great preparation. Judges Marco Asirelli and Marco Fabbri followed the competitors closely, evaluating their performance on the varied terrain of the company, ideal for this type of test thanks to the alternation of small woods and more open areas. The partridges, the true silent protagonists of the day, gave the handlers a hard time, proving to be astute in escaping from the pawn. At the end of the test, the ranking saw the Lucca team prevail, which won first place with an overall score of 204 points.
Grand Duchy of Tuscany Trophy: Test of Excellence for Selection to the World Championship
On Sunday 6 April, at the Armaiolo company in Rapolano Terme, a Test of Excellence valid for the selection to the World Championship took place for the first time in Tuscany. The event, entitled “Trofeo Granducato della Toscana”, was organized by the S. Uberto Commission in collaboration with Federcaccia Toscana–UCT. The initiative attracted competitors from various Italian regions, including Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Campania and of course Tuscany, divided into the Absolute, Search, Under 30 and Lady categories. The company's lands, rich in vegetative variety, aroused great appreciation from both the organizers and the participants, despite the initial difficulties due to the morning fog that made the work of the auxiliaries more complicated.
