In the final he never left the podium, finding himself dueling with the Spaniard Andres Garcia for the gold and silver. In the end the gold went to the opponent, together with the Olympic Card, with a score of 46/50, while the blue player took the silver around his neck with 45/50. Bronze medal and Olympic Charter for the Turkish Oguzhan Tuzun.
Peaceful preparation
“This one in Doha was an important race to participate in. Already having the Charter allowed me to plan the season in a more serene way, distributing my energies in the best way to optimize the approach to the Games – explained De Filippis at the end of the final – In these three days I had the opportunity to measure myself with some of the best shooters on the world scene, who came here with the desire to do their best to win the passes up for grabs. It was an excellent test to evaluate my form. After the gold won at the Rabat World Cup at the beginning of the year, this silver confirms to me that I am on the right path." Giovanni Pellielo (Fiamme Azzurre) from Vercelli and Massimo Fabbrizi (Carabinieri) from Monteprandone (AP) remained out of the play-off final. Having closed the qualifications with a score of 121/125, the two Italians dueled with ten other shooters for two places in the final. With +3 Pellielo had to settle for tenth place and Fabbrizi for sixteenth with +0.
