Shooting, excellent start for the winter championships in Piedmont and Umbria

Subscribers achieved excellent scores, among which Stefano Pennoni's 50/50 from Umbriaverde Shooting (first in the general classification) stands out.

Il Piedmontese Winter Championship di skeet shooting it started in the best way. The 2016 competitions were inaugurated by the specialties of Olympic Trench, Universal Trench and Hunting Trail, with future prospects that have been described as rosy and encouraging by the FITAV. In particular, 177 shooters took part in the Olympic Pit competition, organized in Pecetto di Valenza (province of Alessandria) and the scores recorded at the end were very high. In detail, Giorgio Leva, Giuseppe Alsonatti, Daniele Negro e Massimo Buzzaccaro they were able to achieve four 49/50s, while Luca Stefanini and Federico Tonin e Luca Zanaletti they were the protagonists of three 48/50.

The Universal Trench race that took place in Alba had an equally positive response in terms of participation. There were in fact 53 subscribers who achieved respectable scores. Above all, they stood out Frank Baldi with his 49/50 e George Bottigella (born in 1948 and World Master Champion), who scored an important 48/50. On the other hand, 17 entrants participated in the Hunting Path competition. Settimo Torinese saw the debut in this specialty of the standard-bearers of the San Giovanni Di Vercelli shooting.

The best score in this case was that of Nicholas Piscitelli, which scored an important 48/50. Over the next weekend the appointment with the second phase of the Piedmontese races will be renewed. The 2016 competitive year opened in an engaging and promising way also in Umbria on the same weekend. In Massa Martana (province of Perugia) the first round of the Fossa Olimpica Regional Winter Championship took place, a two-day event that involved 170 shooters. Subscribers have increased significantly compared to last year, a fact that the FITAV underlined through the president Luciano rossi.

Stefano Pennoni (TAV Umbriaverde) finished in the lead of the general classification with a perfect 50/50, followed by Oscar Rota (TAV Cascata delle Marmore), protagonist of a nice 49/50 and from John Pierpaoli with 47/50. Also this year it was decided to assign a trophy among the first classified according to the shooter modes of Excellence (1), First Category (1), Second Category (3) and Third Category (1). The first trophy was won by Marco Leonardi (24/25), closely followed by Fabio Batini (23/25) and from Stephen Bennoni (22/25). As for Piedmont, also in Umbria the second round of the Winter Regional Championship will take place next weekend, to be precise on the platforms of the “Cascata delle Marmore” shooting in Acquasparta (Terni).
