Yesterday, Sunday 20 February, it was held at the plant of Tav Montecatini Pieve a Nievole the first Regional Meeting Fossa and Skeet of Tuscany Youth Sector. 32 the total number of participants, equally divided between the two disciplines. There were also many families who accompanied their boys, staying on the field for the entire duration of the meeting, on a beautiful day of celebration framed by an almost spring-like climate. The introductory speech and greeting by the Regional Delegate Sara Fanciullacci, was followed by a brief presentation of the new Staff of the Regional Technical Committee, and of the general program for the 2022 season exposed by the Discipline Managers Antonino Calantoni for the SK (also the new Ctr President) and Massimo Antonini for the FO (also the new Ctr Director).
Before starting the pre-floor heating and then start workouts, there was a very emotional and truly touching moment in which, remembering the unforgettable friend Cristian Ghilli - the nineteen year old Tuscan skeet player who recently passed away - the whole group of young people and technicians joined in a symbolic embrace around a bunch of white balloons, each holding a thread, and letting their balloon fly in the air at the end of the minute of recollection.
Each balloon had a message written on it for Cristian, and it was the Tuscan Youth Team's way of saying goodbye new season from the field and dedicate it to the lost friend. The meeting, although regional, was tinged with "National" thanks to the exceptional and invaluable presence on the platform of the Technical Commissioner of the Trap Olympic National Team, Albano Pera, assisted by the support of the National Coach Daniele Lucidi, and for the SK by the presence of our Sandro Bellini, from this year working in the ranks of the National team to follow and improve the Azzurrini of Italy.
The gathering concluded with some simulations of Finale, and with a final speech of thanks and greetings which gathered young people and parents to inform about the latest directives regarding the upcoming races scheduled in the coming weeks. Prof. Alberto Di Santolo, also present to follow the boys during the meeting, finally gave his greeting and his thanks, congratulating for the beautiful day and for the organization that has always distinguished our Youth Sector, and rewarding our athletes with a certificate of participation. In conclusion, the Regional Delegate brought greetings from President Rossi, to thank families and children for the massive presence, and to give them his personal good luck for the new season upon us (source: FITAV).
