Fifth edition
During the National Assembly held in Rome, continuing the path of social and environmental reporting undertaken since 2019, the 5th edition of the Social Balance Sheet was presented Hunting Federation. The Budget aims to represent on an objective and comparable basis the social value generated on the national territory through the many initiatives conducted at municipal, provincial and regional level. From the data collected - although not yet covering 100% of all the sections spread throughout the country - the number of initiatives carried out by the Federation at territorial level during 2023 is 418, of which 225 social initiatives, 71 environmental initiatives and 122 initiatives more strongly linked to hunting activity in the strict sense.
Social economic impact
In line with previous years, the social and economic impact generated by socio-environmental initiatives has been quantified, which is approximately 3 million euros, with an average impact per initiative of 10.243 euros. Social initiatives represent approximately 54% of the total with a social and economic impact of 2.101.543,12 euros. Within these initiatives, thanks to the various fundraising activities organized by the Federation, 63.895 euros were collected for socially useful purposes. Environmental initiatives, although fewer in number than social initiatives, allow us to estimate a social and economic impact of 930.608,84 euros, representing approximately 31% of the total with an average impact of 13.107,17 euros. Furthermore, thanks to the numerous environmental initiatives implemented, 458 quintals of waste were collected and 331 km2 of natural areas were redeveloped.
The focus of the Federation
The breakdown of environmental initiatives highlights the Federation's deep commitment to the various aspects of land protection. In particular, 54% of these initiatives are dedicated to environmental protection activities, an area that underlines the Federation's focus on the conservation and protection of ecosystems. Equally significant is the 42% allocated to wildlife management initiatives. Finally, the remaining 4% is dedicated to health surveillance activities. Comparing the data with 2022, it is estimated that the social impact generated has increased - over 3 million euros compared to 2,7 million in 2022 - confirming FIdC's role as a central player in promoting sustainable hunting activity and highlighting the concrete fact, based on objective data and not simple "impressions", that hunting does not represent a cost or a marginal activity for society, but rather a primary resource.
Two lines of interest
From the 2023 Social Balance Sheet of Federcaccia, other aspects emerge, more closely linked to its direct relationship with members. From the analysis of the issues considered most relevant for all stakeholders gravitating around the Federation and its activities, two lines of strong interest were highlighted in particular: one that focuses the commitment of the structure in the promotion and insurance coverage for members, and the other relating to the protection of the health and safety of hunting members (source: FIDC).
