Stefano Mai, councilor for hunting of the Liguria region, has made it known that he is ready to accept the last observation of the Regional Administrative Court regarding the hunting withdrawal of the transfer. The judges confirmed the ban on hunting the bird and now the same region is about to launch a new measure, so as to reopen hunting notwithstanding until next 15 December. The objective will be the same as the previous resolution, namely the protection of olive producers.
The TAR partially accepted the environmental appeal, despite the hunting notwithstanding the starling in the period between 25 September and 15 December had received the favorable opinion from ISPRA. He never explained how the new text will be drafted. First of all, the obligation to abate the transfers at a distance of 100 meters from the olive groves and scattered vegetation.
The sentence did not frighten the Liguria Region, given that the resolution is not substantially questioned. The changes relate to only one of the six environmental demands and therefore there is a cautious optimism. The safeguarding of olive production must be guaranteed again. Now we await the launch of the provision and the details on the hunting in derogation for this last month and a half.
