The Environment Committees of the Chamber and the Senate today expressed a favorable opinion on the nomination proposal no. 97 of the prefect Stefano Laporta as president ofHigher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra). Stephen Laporta, born in Lecce, lawyer and prefect, president of Ispra and Snpa since 2017, since 2008 he was first sub-commissioner, then general director of Ispra. In 2016 he was appointed coordinator of the Advisory Committee of the National Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (Fill in).
"With a sense of responsibility, I welcomed and accepted the proposal to renew my appointment - commented the new president Laporta - after many years spent in the Institute and more recently also in the national system, I consider Ispra, the Agencies and all the professionals who work there a bit like a second home. I thank the Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani for the proposal and the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese for allowing me to have this new opportunity.
For my part, I will continue to put the utmost effort into fulfilling the tasks that have been entrusted to me, to support the MiTE with a view to mutual collaboration and to face the great challenges that await not only the Institute, but the whole country, first of all, the PNRR ”.
