Steiner is a German company belonging to Beretta group, famous for the production of binoculars and aiming optics, particularly renowned in the military sector and leader in nautical binoculars.
In the field of binoculars and optics for hunting use Steiner has been on the market for several years, offers instruments with different price points and boasts a line of top-level riflescopes directly derived from military production.
At the end of 2015, after an in-depth market study aimed at understanding the real needs of the European hunter, Steiner presented the new line of Ranger riflescopes to enthusiasts.
The series Cleaning combines the recognized optical quality of Steiner a particularly advantageous cost.
Le Ranger optics they have a 4X zoom factor, ideal for meeting all the needs of the modern hunter who, depending on the type of weapon and hunting, can choose which model to equip his rifle with. The High-Contrast lenses allow a transmission of light higher than 90%, return clear and sharp images up to the edge of the field of view with an excellent resolution of detail.
Thanks to the 4 mm tube, the 30A-I type reticles, on the second focal plane, have a wide range of adjustment in rise and drift, and are also equipped with a small and defined illuminable dot. The third turret in fact allows the adjustment of the 11 levels of brightness of the reticle, 5 in night mode and 6 in daytime as well as an OFF position between one phase and another. The battery compartment is integrated into the turret.
The highly resistant materials together with the mechanically precise structure give the Ranger riflescopes excellent solidity and resistance to firing even with large-caliber weapons. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 2 m depth, even without turret covers. Dust, dirt and moisture cannot enter the instrument thanks to the compressed nitrogen filling. The nitrogen also prevents the formation of condensation and guarantees the functionality of the instrument in a range between –25 ° C and 65 ° C.
The anodizing of the opaque black tube is designed for the hunting world, thus minimizing the possibility of light reflections that could make the game suspicious.
Steiner, with the Ranger series, has set itself the goal of offering incredible optical quality and mechanics, high magnifications, large objective bells capable of considerable light transmission at an extremely competitive price.
Range overview:
Steiner Ranger 1-4 × 24: classic rifle scope, with a wide field of view, equal to 37m / 100m at 1 magnification. Designed for fast target acquisition even with both eyes open, it is very compact and light, only 262 mm for 492 g of weight. Ideal optics for equipping semi-automatic and express rifles, it combines the practicality of a red dot with the precision of a rifle scope and thanks to the 9 cm interpupillary distance, common to the whole Range series, it can also be used with energetic recoil weapons.
Steiner Ranger 2-8 × 42: versatile, light and compact riflescope, the ideal companion for swing-action shotguns and for those who prefer hunting hunting in wooded environments interspersed with meadows and clearings, the classic case is that of roe deer. On occasion, thanks to the 2 magnifications, it can also be used for hitting and, reaching up to 8x, also for stalking.
Steiner Ranger 3-12 × 56: Powerful, bright and versatile, it is the spotting scope for stalking and waiting hunting. Very light with its 705 g, it has a very wide field of view. Thanks to its high light transmission it is the perfect companion for twilight hunting. The wide adjustment of the light intensity of the reticle guarantees excellent performance from the first light of dawn to the last of the sunset.
Steiner Ranger 4-16 × 56: Top of the range of the Ranger line, with its 16 magnifications and 56 mm lens it is ideal for high precision and long distance shooting, even in low light situations. Tested in the most difficult hunting situations, it brings even the smallest details into focus thanks to the high magnification and quality of the Steiner lenses. It also features parallax adjustment, all at a very affordable price. In the evening it will allow, also thanks to the illuminated dot, to undermine wild boars and roe deer even when the light is now only a memory and at the same time we will be able to take full advantage of the 16 magnifications for shooting chamois from a considerable distance.
