Fausti: From an aesthetic point of view, the Fausti Magnificent over-under shotgun sets new standards in the national and international panorama of the arms sector. Looking at the shotgun in its entirety, one understands the reference to the history of art that Fausti wanted to express through this over-and-under. What immediately stands out to the eye of the observer (and therefore of the hunter) is certainly the receiver.
Through the most modern production techniques, the Faust has managed to achieve a remarkable result both from the point of view of the mechanics connected to the reliability of the weapon, and from the aesthetic point of view. Not surprisingly, the company from Marcheno (BS) has chosen this as the name over / under Magnificent, a choice aimed at keeping alive the extraordinary historical Renaissance period, during which the great Italian artists created splendid sculptural and chiseled works. Works of art that still inspire aesthetics today, in this case of a rifle.
To achieve the aesthetics of the receiver, Fausti used the original and precious technique of the “Nuovo Cesello” with which the surprising combination of style and creativity is achieved. The “Nuovo Cesello” technique manages to combine two elements: the skill of the master engraver in creating new shapes and geometries, and the revolutionary three-dimensional technology applied to the laser. The latter enhances and brings out a third element of distinction, sculpture, the art form with which the work of art enters the space of the observer.
In the Mangificent hunting over-under, technological innovation of production processes and tradition typical of master engravers coexist.
Using the “Nuovo Cesello” technique, a chest of the action was created decorated with one of the most representative symbols of the ancient arms city of Brescia, the rampant lion, set in a sort of shield on a gold-colored background. A little further up, Fausti decided to engrave the name of the gun using a very soft and delicate font. Both folders are embellished with the face of the Roman goddess Nike always in gold, which generates a pleasant chromatic contrast with the rest of the silver-colored receiver. The engraving of the receiver in its entirety denotes quality and precision, but also a factor that is not found on other rifles, namely the three-dimensionality of the chiseled design. Modern hunters, as much as they can look after and focus above all on the technical and mechanical characteristics of a hunting rifle, also want to have a weapon that stands out for its aesthetics. With the aim of meeting the different needs of hunters, Fausti has decided to further embellish the Magnificent over-and-under by using gold inserts, which recall the Renaissance period and the style of the English and Belgian school.
The Fausti Magnificent can be customized by also choosing to replace the face of the Roman Nike, with hunting subjects such as waterfowl.
In hunting over / under Magnificent, however, not only is there a refined and refined aesthetic, but also remarkable reliability of the mechanical part. The latter consists of a box-lock with an Anson & Deeley type battery modified to obtain decisive and dry shots. The single selective trigger, the automatic extractors and the interchangeable chokes are standard. The dogs are loaded by means of the tooth of the shaft which pushes the two cocking levers during the opening phase, which in turn also perform the function of engaging the automatic extraction after firing and opening the rifle.
The ability to customize the Magnificent it is not limited only to the aesthetic part, but also to the automatic one. The hunter can in fact choose to replace some interchangeable spare parts, in order to find the right dimensions desired by the buyer. Fausti, in fact, has the ability to fulfill these requests through very precise work centers. The closure is of the “Four locks” type, a Fausti patent, synonymous with reliability and safety. Both the action and the barrels are made of special steel joined to nickel and chromium-molybdenum, a "compound" that allows a high degree of resistance and elasticity to be obtained when fired.
La Faust has chosen woods from the forests of Turkey for the stock and forend of the Magnificent hunting over-under, after a scrupulous selection of the best quality. The grip of the Magnificent is guaranteed by a specially designed checkering called “goddess's tear”, which allows you to grip the rifle efficiently and safely. This design plays an important role in harmonizing the overall line of the weapon, which is further highlighted by the wooden butt plate with the two steel tips, also finely chiseled.
The Magnificent hunting over-and-under is available in all calibers, with dedicated action frames for both the 28 gauge and the 16 gauge. various sports disciplines. This shotgun presents a clear integration between mechanical work and manual finishes, a perfect combination typical of made in Italy. The Fausti Magnificent hunting over-under, with all its mechanical and aesthetic characteristics, has opened up new scenarios in the international panorama of weapons intended for the hunting sector.
