"Wildlife management for sustainable and conservative hunting". This was it the title of the conference, much anticipated, which was organized byTerritorial Hunting Area MC2 together with the section of Montelupone (province of Macerata) of the Italian Federation of Hunting. The mayor of the Marche municipality, Rolando Pecora, opened the proceedings with the greetings of the administration and underlining how fundamental hunters are for the management of the territory: in particular, the mayor called for an adequate control plan to pigeons and nutria.
The regional councilor for hunting, Moreno Pieroni, he explained in detail the works that the council of the Marche is preparing for the transfer of competences from the provinces, also answering the questions of the local ATCs. Frank Perco, director of the Sibillini National Park, spoke instead of wolves census, asking for specific guidelines. The relationship of Alessandro Tedeschi, number one of “Amici di Scolopax”, was focused on satellite telemetry that is applied to the woodcock, a system that has shown that the pre-nuptial migration of the bird never begins before March. Andrea Busaferro, wildlife technician of the ATC MC2, then concentrated on the management of ungulates and on the contribution offered by wild boar hunting teams.
Uriano Meconi, director of the Hunting Office of the Marche, has instead illustrated the hunting calendar 2016-2017, very similar to last year and judged among the best in our country. In the end, Daniel Sparvoli, director of the Regional Wildlife Observatory, has given space to the calendar for ungulates of selection: the 2016-2017 season will be characterized by much shorter paperwork.
