Appointment on June 7th
Hosted by MEP Juan Ignacio Zoido (Spain, EPP) and organized in partnership with the European Federation of Hunting and Conservation (FACE), the conference "Sustainable hunting and conservation in Europe" will be held on 7 June from 3 to 16,00 in the halls of the European Parliament in Brussels. Speakers include MEP Juan Ignacio Zoido, Vice-President of the Intergroup “Biodiversity, hunting and rurality”; Andrea Vettori, Head of Unit, Nature Conservation, Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission; Manuel Gallardo, president of the Real Federación Española de Caza; Szabolcs Nagy, Biodiversity Manager of Wetlands International and Michele Sorrenti, Scientific Coordinator of the Studies and Research Office of the Italian Hunting Federation.
The focus of the discussion
It is intended by the organizers to be an open discussion with a specific focus on the role of sustainable hunting and conservation in light of the latest policy developments, including new initiatives on sustainable bird hunting, habitat restoration and protected areas.
Environmental policies
The panel of experts, stakeholders and policymakers will discuss the challenges and opportunities of implementing EU environmental policies, the benefits of conserving key species and habitats, and the role of sustainable practices in achieving conservation objectives. The event will create an opportunity to engage in an open dialogue on the future of wildlife conservation and the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy.
