The proposals of the optics are now a real firework such and many are on the market, all aimed at satisfying the desires and aspirations of hunters and shooters. The Z8i series of Swarovski it is undoubtedly intended for hunting, the hard and demanding one as it is understood today in many areas of the planet, therefore the magnification factors must take into account, as far as possible, a limit variation which here has reached a factor of 7,8. Not many years have passed since Swarovski, at the time the forerunner in this specific research, had presented its admirable optic equipped with the legendary 6x factor which then seemed like a dream: today the 7,8x multiplier goes almost unnoticed because it has get used to such advantages and the open-minded hunter derives the right benefits from them. Once upon a time the fixed telescope with 4 or 6 magnifications and 32 or 42 mm objective was the maximum that could be accessed and only in the following years, with the spread of hunting ungulates in many areas, including Italy, where before it was reduced or even not practiced, has shown the benefits of variables with such a range of possibilities. A magnification of 2,3x allows you to participate in the hunt to the wild boar and with the simple rotation of the regulator you get to 18x for long distance shots: in both cases it was served properly.
Of course the specialists will mount a 1-4 × 24 optic or a holographic sight or a red dot on their rifled semi-auto, knowing that a long shot will not be within their reach, but those who occasionally participate in a wild boar hunt and habitually undermine the other ungulates on the hunt, having to shoot at great distances, will find in this telescope a very reliable technical means to do the job. It should be added that the 56 mm lens with its volume and its weight will also be a slight annoyance in the first of the two situations mentioned, however, in the second, granting optimal performance even in the worst light conditions: those who have put together so many experiences know well how this factor has allowed more than one capture by placing in the eye of the hunter the image of that roe deer or, even better of that deer, which without the aid of optics it was impossible to see at all. One more detail: the HD lens train is always Swarovski so that, together with the numerical value as a percentage of light transmission (> 91%), there are numerically hardly definable entities, but well perceptible in use such as image softness, definition of the edges, light with the unmistakable tone gold not annoying for the eye that are naturally part of the peculiarities together with the system to illuminate the reticle with different degrees of intensity.
A nod to the mechanical part to observe the eyepiece on which to set, with a slight rotation, the personal dioptric correction: the rubber-coated edge avoids annoying bumps to the eyebrow. In a hollow made in the upper part, where functional and elegant scratches stand out, there is the lever to activate the lighting: in the center off, on the right for full light and on the left for low light to night vision. Also on the eyepiece tube there are two keys marked + and - with which the intensity of the light reference is modulated in the center of the 4A-300-I distance grid on which three reference bars are shown. The complex ends with the knurled wheel to set the magnifications, equipped with a reference prominence at the value of 6,5x to act quickly even in the dark. At the center of the 30 mm tube protrude the three turrets with easy-to-handle lids: the shots both in elevation and in drift are worth 1 cm at 100 m, an advantageous and convenient measure for hunting; the turret on the left has the dual function of container for the battery and of parallax corrector, necessary with these magnification values and the hypothetical shooting distances: the image focus, fast and clear, is certain on the exact setting.
The ballistic turret signed as BTF (Ballistic Turret Flex) can be applied to the basic mechanics, which allows you to pre-define five shooting distances, between 100 and 500 meters or, otherwise, to act on the shots based on the ballistic detections of the cartridge used or using the company vademecum where you can find many solutions related to the most used cartridges. By combining the detection with the binotelemeter you will have the dual choice of acting on the basis of the references of the reticle, without therefore acting on the turret, or of intervening on the latter: ultimately you will have, in one or the other case, greater safety and precision in aiming and therefore a very high probability of hitting the target. What then remains the ultimate goal for the use of these excellent equipment.
