Immediate activation
With the latest Commissioner's Ordinance signed by the Extraordinary Commissioner for PSA Giovanni Filippini we must point out that even in our Region serious conditions of hardship have been created – certainly avoidable with better coordination between the institutional parties involved – for Calabrian hunters following in particular the ban on hunting wild boar in the Restriction Zones 1, not falling within the newly defined CEV Zone, the latter not present in Calabria. Federcaccia Calabria immediately took action by addressing the Region through the competent Departments, Departments and Offices, a precise and detailed note in which a rapid intervention by the Institutions is requested in order to minimize the impact of the Ordinance on Calabrian hunters.
Restriction areas
In particular, Federcaccia Calabria has underlined how it provides for the possibility and faculty of granting exemptions by the same Commissioner Structure and considering the existence of the necessary conditions in the Calabrian regional reality, has invited the Region to take action to request in the forms and with the methods deemed appropriate the Authorization in derogation so that wild boar hunting activity can be permitted, in the drive and in selection, in the territory classified in "restriction zone 1" of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria as well as recalling its proposals already formulated, to urgently activate the measures for the depopulation of wild boar in "restriction zone 2", according to the methods and provisions contained in the Ordinance in question, in order to eradicate the serious problem constituted by African swine fever in Calabria.
Protection of the agricultural sector
Trusting in the willingness of the Council and the Departments consulted to resolve the critical issues that have emerged as soon as possible, in the interest not only of hunters but above all of the economy and the protection of farmers and breeders, Federcaccia Calabria reconfirms its full availability to collaborate and to any constructive discussion (source: FIDC).
