Councilor Piana's post
We report what was published on Facebook by Alexander Piana, Liguria regional councilor for economic development with responsibility for hunting: "I met the extraordinary commissioner Vincenzo Caputo together with Anci, Alisa, hunting associations, the ATC and CA of Genoa, Imperia, Savona and La Spezia".
The decline in hunters
"Various points were addressed, starting from self-consumption up to the resources necessary to make depopulation measures from infected areas more effective. The territorial areas, despite the reduction in members (there are 1200 fewer hunters in the last year in Genoa alone), have faced additional efforts, but it is not conceivable to continue without further support".
A significant opening
"We encountered a significant openness from Commissioner Caputo already on disposal options and future financial availability. We have in fact represented the need to obtain greater resources for the disposal of viscera and skins, for the implementation and monitoring of depopulation, contributions to bioregulators and volunteers, additional staff in spot cases, supply of equipment, contributions for the game meat supply chain and subsequent processing".
