A first, but significant step
This measure represents a first, but significant step, so that the entire territory of the Metropolitan City can exit the restrictions, considering that the last discovery of infected wild boar carcasses dates back to November 13, 2023. In light of the activities ordered by the National PSA Commissioner on the affected territories through the meticulous and targeted search for carcasses with the help of molecular dogs, Federcaccia believes and hopes that the other municipalities will also be reclassified as soon as possible, freeing them from the residual restrictions. Also in light of the depopulation activities carried out, which have confirmed the absence of the virus in the affected territories. Federcaccia Calabria therefore hopes that the metropolitan territory can exit the restrictions as soon as possible, to bring pig breeding activities back to normal and to allow the complete resumption of hunting activity on the entire territory of the affected ATCs. In order for these objectives to be achieved soon, Federcaccia will continue to work alongside the institutions, through the training and assistance of the many hunters and bioregulators who, voluntarily, work at the service of the territory and the community; thanks to their decisive and fundamental contribution, these results are being achieved that aim to definitively eradicate PSA from the Calabrian territory.
