The renewed alarm
Just one month has passed since the swine fever nightmare was declared over in Sardinia with the eradication of the virus on the island. After such a short time, however, the region has to deal with a new alarm that has to do precisely with ASF. In this territory, in fact, a load of infected meat has arrived that cannot let people sleep soundly.
Where does the infected meat come from?
We are talking about food that arrived in Sardinia from Northern Italy, to be precise last October. The farm from which the load comes has been geolocalized in a northern region not yet specified with the consequent withdrawal from the commercial chain.
The measures already adopted
The withdrawal itself occurred 20 days after the tracking, but part of the load had already been put on sale. This means that there is a lot of risk. In fact, a lot of pork, which was also certified for marketing and consumption, was sold to delicatessens, butchers, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and canteens. Unfortunately, all that remains is to cross our fingers and hope for limited consequences.
