With the resolution proposed by the Councilor for Agriculture Enrico Onorati approved by the Executive in the meeting yesterday afternoon, the Lazio region has achieved the objective of making the activity of the Territorial Areas of Hunting more incisive and effective for the management and control of African swine fever in the context of hunting, selection and control operations for wild boar. An act long overdue to intervene effectively on the circulation of the virus swine fever in some areas of Lazio and the capital itself. The dgr will modify the current regional regulation of the selection hunting giving the possibility to the selecontrollers to register and participate in the selection plans in progress in the various Atc, also increasing the number per district up to a maximum of 40 subjects.
An allocation is also foreseen in favor of the Atc to provide for reimbursement of expenses for finding carcasses; reimbursement of expenses for the operators who will kill wild boars during the control operations - which as we always remember is not a hunting exercise, but an activity of public utility - and to meet the costs of removing and disposing of carcasses. "Thanks to the work of the commissioner Enrica Onorati, the efforts and commitment of the extraordinary Commissioner for Psa Angelo Ferrari finally find practical application in Lazio" commented the FIDC President Massimo Buconi.
“I sincerely thank both of them, each for their role, for the consideration with which also on this occasion they confronted the hunting world, showing sincere attention and an appreciable balance. I hope that the practical phase will now be passed as soon as possible and that other Regions interested in the problem will take action in a similar way "(Press Office Italian Federation of Hunting).
