Today, Monday 11 October 2021, the Regional Administrative Court of Puglia rejected the appeal presented by the LAC (League for the Abolition of Hunting) against the regional hunting calendar in relation to the 2021-2022 season. In the debate in question, the regional hunting associations Federcaccia, Caccia, Pesca e Ambiente (CPA), Arci Caccia, Enalcaccia and AnuuMigratoristi appeared in court. The LAC requested cancellation, after suspension of efficacy, of the parts of the calendar relating to the pre-opening of the hunt for wild dove, in addition to the withdrawal of larks, song thrushes, ducks, quails, stone thrushes and woodcocks.
The judges of the TAR were eloquent in their judgment, the appeal was rejected, as the Puglia Region deviated from the opinion of theISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), as mandatory but not binding, there was also adequate motivation accompanied by Scientific studies of the sector.
