The idea of an in-house exhibition of Bignami 's product offerings has come to fruition: eighteen events have been organized at the Ora headquarters, and the success continues to be resounding and rewarding, as is the expectation of things organized with serious intent, attention to detail, and sheer determination. Providing customers with a comprehensive product portfolio, illustrated by in-house staff and local agents, is a powerful lever for making the journey a fruitful one: benefits must always be two-faceted, and here the rewards are truly well-distributed. This year, the icing on the cake, the event was held in the new wing of the building, which now houses all of the company's operations, from the management offices to the exhibition area, from the workshop to the expanded warehouse, equipped with the most advanced electronic system to expedite the picking, packing, and shipping of customer requests.
Style is part of the Berti family's DNA and that of all those who work under the aegis of the brand, now approaching its 80th anniversary . A glance at the building, and in particular at the third floor where most of the products are displayed, is testament to this: the spaces are large enough to accommodate a good number of people without creating any disturbance, with abundant light and a wall entirely made of glass that looks out over the Adige Valley. A phenomenal view that prepares the mind for a better understanding of the products.
Among the long guns, those that most interest our sector, the novelty of the Sauer 404 XCT Carbon stands out : we are at a premium level in terms of price as well as in the technical features of this top-of-the-line mechanism from the company with interchangeable barrel and bolt head, a load-bearing structure in ergal to which the two elements of the stock are fixed, made of carbon in the recently adopted shape, called Synchro, with a large window for the thumb pass-through and adjustable back for an excellent shooting posture with a weight contained at just 2,8 kg. Also new from Sauer is the GTI version of the Mod 101, one of the most recent creations in chronological order in which they have adopted construction criteria of excellent performance based on new technologies at low costs: here the stock is a single piece, but it takes on the style of a thumb loop, adjustable back, very straight axis, all obtained from a block of stratified wood which, in our opinion, possesses at least a couple of essential and determining characteristics such as the pleasant appearance (it is still wood) and the solid rigidity not subject to variations in climatic factors and, if you want, you can also add the low cost.
Mauser maintains its top-of-the-line product with the M03 rifle, which is joined by the M12 type , with a simplified structure but no less refined in its essential elements, such as, for example, the three-position safety has been improved, now equipped with a point for opening the bolt and automatically returning it to the fully locked position. These are the two new versions: the M12 Impact , a true all-weather rifle with a synthetic stock, action and fluted barrel in stainless steel treated with Ilaflon® against any oxidation, extreme precision and calibers .243 and .308 Win. plus the .30-06 Sprg.; the M12 Max where the ergonomics of the thumb stock made of stratified wood recalls the style of the Mauser competition rifles and is available in all the calibers available for the basic model. Also interesting from Mauser is the new HexaLock attachment with six retaining lugs, developed for the M12 and 98 models and also extended to the Sauer Mod. 101, German quality at a very affordable price.
Ruger has included in the so-called tube guns a variant of black rifles no longer used for hunting, but dedicated to the range benches: we include it here anyway because the mechanics still maintain a frame with a closed ring and bridge, a sliding rotating bolt and a semi-heavy 5-groove barrel chambered for three excellent calibers: .243 Win., .308 Win. and 6,5 Creedmore. The central core is attached to the folding and collapsible stock, the pistol grip and the Samson Evolution handguard equipped with Key Mod mounts and a 20 MOA inclined Picatinny rail. Workmanship and precision are typical of Ruger: like the always very affordable price.
There is nothing particularly new in the long list of manufacturers where the already well-known classic pieces are found: Weatherby, Savage, CZ, Christensen, HS Precision, Hatsan, Armsan, Mossberg with Walther and Anschütz monopolizing the attention of range shooters.
The optics industry is experiencing considerable growth driven by the availability of raw materials and the relatively easy assembly by specialized companies operating in low-cost countries, while also ensuring good reliability. Starting from the top manufacturers, we observe Zeiss, which with its three product lines—Victory, Conquest, and Terra —covers the entire available field, offering top-quality optics, binoculars, and long lenses at every price point. Meopta from Czechia, already present in the sector where electronics play on binoculars and riflescopes with the corrections required by the various parameters in play, is present here with three riflescopes in its three classes: so we see the MeoStar R2 8×56 Rd with improved MeoTrack II turrets and 30 mm tube, the MeoTac 3-12×50 Rd with 34 mm tube, high ZeroStop turrets, the MeoPro 3,5-10×44 Rd with 25 mm tube and the improved turrets of the MeoStar. All these riflescopes have an illuminated reticle. Finally, the MeoRed is a robust and completely waterproof red dot sight , can be combined with night vision devices, is very easy to use, and has a battery level indicator. The American company Bushnell diversifies its latest innovations across many items, including the long Trophy Xtreme 20-60 with a 50 or 65mm objective, the AK 1-25mm red dot, the Trophy 3-9×50 and 3,5-10×36 riflescopes with ballistic turret, the 8×42 binoculars, the Xtreme 4×20 rangefinder, and the E2 wildlife camera: all offering good quality and very attractive prices.
Nikko Stirling has its strong points in the Diamond Long Range series with 4-16×50 and 6-24×50 values, both equipped with 30 mm tube, illumination, multilayer-coated lenses: the prices are really interesting.
Accustomed to seeing the Sig-Sauer acronym on handguns and long guns, it is striking to see it on optics: a compact series with binoculars, red dot, rangefinder and two riflescopes, Tango 4 and Tango 6, come from studies inspired by military optoelectronic technologies with robustness and performance adequate for the toughest specifications and consistent performance.
The British Hawke is a fairly recent addition to Bignami: the company has always supplied the UK Army and boasts reliable construction in terms of durability, accuracy, and field performance. In addition to a very compact scope with a straight or angled viewfinder, they offer riflescopes such as the Sidewinder ED 10-50x60, the Vantage SF IR in 3-12x50, 4-16x50, and 6-24x50 with everything needed for long-range hunting, and the Frontier 30 1-6x24, specifically designed for driven hunts. The prices for these optics are pleasantly surprising, especially after weighing them and testing them in the open field.
