Continental review
The Sporting Blue Team left yesterday afternoon for Malaga (ESP) to participate in the European Sporting Championship. The 57th edition of the continental review of the amateur specialty will take place on the platforms of Yedra from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th April. The Italian delegation is made up of 17 shooters, each of whom will represent us in the rankings of their respective qualifications.
The Azzurri in the race
Among the men there will be Cristian Camporese from Padua (PD), Davide Gasparini from Gabicce Mare (PU), Michael Nesti from Pistoia and Michael Spada from Fabro (TR). Among the Ladies we will be represented by Veronica Bertoli from Gavardo (BS), Valentina Guidi from Misano Adriatico (RN) and Katiuscia Spada from Fabro (TR). Competing in the Junior sector will be Damiano Cecchini from Assisi (PG), Mattia Degli Antoni from Passirano (BS) and Augusto Salvini from Empoli (FI). Moving on to the "over" qualifications, Gianfranco Cannoni from San Giovanni Valdarno (AR), Alessandro Gaetani from San Miniato (PI) and Gabriele Soldani from Pratovecchio Stia (AR) will compete among the Seniors; among the Veterans Pier Giovanni Nesti from Pistoia (PT), Giovanni Provenzale from Rimini and Carlo Sestini from Empoli (FI); among the Masters our only representative will be Giancarlo Ciofini from Perugia.
The program in detail
The competition program includes 50 targets per day for the four groups of the competition. The European Champion Titles will be awarded over a distance of 200 targets, plus any play-offs in the event of a tie. Today our shooters will dedicate themselves to practice free throws and in the afternoon they will participate in the Opening Ceremony, on which occasion they will be given their match numbers (source: FITAV).
