The Regional Council has given its vote in favor of a text that follows in a rather faithful way that of last year. As explained by Dino Pepe, regional councilor for hunting, the Abruzzo calendar took into due consideration the contributions of the council, i opinions provided by ISPRA and many other evaluations.
What has been specifically stated? The hunting pre-opening will concern turtledoves, crows, magpies and jays, more precisely on 1st, 3rd and 4th September (until 18pm). From 18 September, however, it will be possible to hunt pheasants, quail, hares and foxes. One of the "closest" dates is that relating to dog training, since it will start in less than two weeks, next 15th August.
From October 1st to February 5th there will be the hunting collection of the wood pigeon, but with a possible extension until 9 February. The period chosen for hunting woodcock will be from 1st October to 19th January. As for the wild boar hunting, then, it will start on October 1st and will exploit the hunt technique.
