The objective of the new law
“The law approved in the last session of the Regional Council of Basilicata for the modification of the maximum dimensions in hectares of the Territorial Hunting Areas goes towards the objective that, as councillor, I had set myself in perfect harmony with the hunting associations: to reduce their number to a minimum by increasing the hectares foreseen by law." This is what the councilor for agricultural, food and forestry policies Alessandro Galella declared. “The ideal objective to achieve – states Galella – was to have only two ATCs in Basilicata coinciding with the two provinces, that of Potenza and that of Matera. Unfortunately, however, national law provides for the impossibility of ATCs coinciding with the provinces.
Hunting Wildlife Plan
The small number of hunters in our region sets the following objectives to be achieved: the simplification of procedures and greater efficiency of services. With the approval of the Regional Wildlife and Hunting Plan 2024-2028 achieved with great difficulty after more than a decade of inactivity - continues the councilor for agriculture - and the changes made to the regional law on hunting desired by the regional councilors, they finally create the conditions to achieve the objective of reducing from 5 to 3 ATC.
Too much approximation
The commitment is to approve in the Council before the elections the resolution on the wildlife plan in which only three ATCs are finally foreseen, hoping during the next council session to finally be able to put an end to the approximation that politics has ensured for too many years for this wonderful sector. Thanks also to the new fishing law recently approved, I am closing my mandate with great satisfaction. Hunting and fishing, immersed in the paradisiacal scenery that is the Basilicata environment, must finally represent for the Lucanians a great resource made up of passion, quality of life but also tourism, economic and employment development" concludes councilor Galella ( source: Basilicata Region).
