John Malanchini, councilor secretary of the Lombardy Region, spoke at the end of the hearing of the hunting associations in Agriculture Commission. The exponent of the League has assured the commitment of Lombardy itself for what concerns hunting in derogation and the reopening of the roccoli. In particular, there will be specific initiatives and the use of scientific and legal instruments. According to Malanchini, the Region has no longer been able to legally authorize the traditional collection and capture for the supply of live calls to stationary stalking hunters.
This is why the cultural heritage of this rural landscape would have been lost more and more, with the dramatic closure of the Lombard capture plants that boast centuries of history. For the councilor i ISPRA opinions limiting or against they can no longer be accepted. A dialogue will be initiated with the Government to overcome the regulatory situation that for years has paralyzed the green light to hunting in derogation.
The Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, however, must provide the data required by state law, in order to approve these exemptions. The Region will also try to reconstitute a valid Hunting Wildlife Observatory, in order to have a valid comparison with the opinions of ISPRA. Obviously the collaboration of the hunting associations will be decisive.
