Today's announcement
The regional council of Brands approved a resolution which, based on the indications of the Ministries of the Environment and Agriculture, essentially gives the green light to prepare an extraordinary plan for the culling of wild boars in the region. The announcement came this morning from President Francesco Acquaroli, who met the farmers of Coldiretti during the demonstration which brought 2 thousand farmers to Ancona to ask for an extraordinary measure to contain the type of wild fauna which causes enormous damage to crops and agricultural businesses.
Extraordinary plan
“Wildlife causes damage to many agricultural businesses, produces damage to crops, takes away energy from agricultural entrepreneurs – observed Acquaroli, who also took to the stage set up by Coldiretti during the sit-in, following the procession, together with the Agriculture councilor Andrea Maria Antonini and some majority councilors -. With this resolution, an extraordinary plan is launched which will allow us to give an important response to the world of agriculture, giving dignity to a sector faced with many difficulties but which must find an important closeness in the fight against wildlife by the institutions". “It was a commitment that we had had for some time and I am happy that we were able to complete it today. A historic and strategic result achieved."
A fundamental need
In essence, the council has given a mandate to the competent department and offices to proceed with the extraordinary abatement plan. “This is – stated Acquaroli – a fundamental need to be addressed. I bring a first-hand testimony: leaving Palazzo Raffaello (headquarters of the Region, ed.) we often see wild fauna in the street: it is not only a danger for agriculture but also for cars and motorbikes, it also causes a lot of damage to safety of motor vehicles" (Ansa).
