A concept and a symbol
Il Maremma Park it gets a new look and presents its new graphic identity, intended to standardize the site, the maps for the visit, the gadgets and everything on which the Park brand is usually affixed. The work, the work of Marzia Bianchi, visual designer and Giovanni Carrada, author, curator and communications consultant, responds to the need for a stronger, unique identity that underlines and helps us discover the beauty of this place. The concept starts from the symbol: the wild boar, an element of continuity from the past and an ancient symbol of the Maremma. It is completed and evolves with new graphics that design naturalistic scenarios like the scenes of a theater: the nature of the Park, the Uccellina mountains, the valleys, the plains and the slopes, in a color palette that goes from gold to green olive and forest, to the blue of the sea.
How the identity project was born
Graphic elements with soft lines come together and fit together in a synthetic balance of shapes and colors. The result is a compact, modern and light sign. The project of the new identity of the Maremma Park is the result of collective work between people: through the experience of those who live these places, of those who discover them, of those who offer them every day and of those who have translated them into emotions to live. The wild boar remains the same, now dear to those who frequent the Park, but in a more welcoming and harmonious form, alongside the identifying elements of the territory: the sea and the Uccellina mountains. The intent was to create a sign that conveys the joy of those who cross this beautiful, solitary and silent, wild but gentle island. The logo font is also renewed, favoring modern and clean lines.
Not just logo
But it's not just the logo. The work involved the entire graphic identity of the Park: the new map guide, the gadgets, the internal signage, the setting up of the new Visitor Center (work on which will start in a few days), the social media graphics and the website, soon online in the its renewed version of form and content. “We must not talk about a revolution but about an evolution – states the president of the Park Simone Rusci – like the one that changes our environment and its visible forms every day. A necessary evolution to adapt the image of the Park to new languages and digital tools but also to mark new directions and new strategies. Therefore not just a formal restyling but the beginning of a coherent strategy of narration and interpretation of the territory, fundamental for fixing the beauties of the Park and the Maremma territory in people's mental maps". “A renovation in line with the modern and dynamic image that the Park wants and must give itself, states the President of the Province of Grosseto Francesco Limatola who opened the presentation. The Park and all public institutions – continues Limatola – must constantly work for innovation and for the strengthening of territorial brands, fundamental to economic and social development”.
Curiosities in detail
Some third and fourth classes of the Graphics and Communication Technical Institute of the Polo L. Bianciardi of Grosseto participated in the presentation of the new visual identity of the Park and the logo. Some curiosities: the new logo takes up the idea of the first logo of the Maremma Park to connect the wild boar, symbol of strength and ability to adapt, with the constituent elements of the territory, the hills and the sea. The first logo was made by composing a two-tone base, in which a sinuous dotted line symbolized the hills and meadows, while a straight blue line symbolized the sea. In 2004 the territorial background was lost, with the aim of livening up and making the boar and the logo as a whole less austere. The sea returns in 2011, to support the Osprey, which has recently returned to nest in the Park. The new logo puts the territory back at the center, pushing tradition and innovation on its values (source: Parco della Maremma).
