The Piedmont Region has also begun to draft the hunting calendar 2017-2018, following the example of Campania. The text has been made known to the hunting associations and now the usual remarks which can be received by tomorrow, Friday 17 March. The next and fundamental step will be that of opinion of the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. What has been decided for the moment?
For some time now Piedmontese hunters have had to deal with some limitations: in this case the closure of the turdidae hunting it is set for January 10, while that with woodcock ends at the end of the year, so ten days earlier. From 1 October to 20 January you can hunt aquatic, but as it has long been known the species involved are few, namely teal, moorhen and mallard. For the collection of wild boar the reference period should be between 24 September and 25 December or from 1st November to 31st January.
For each day of hunting, no more than two heads of sedentary wildlife can be killed (one of them must be the common hare). The other totals not to be exceeded as regards the game bags are the following: 25 wild boars a year, five common hares, five annual heads for partridges and red partridges, 30 pheasants, 70 minilepers and 50 annual heads for wild rabbits, gray crows, black crows, magpies and jays.
