The next 31th December, not an extra day. It is, in a nutshell, the decision of the Regional Council of Tuscany regarding the operations of the Territorial Areas of Hunting. The next six months, however, will not go by without news. In fact, it was decided to divide the ATCs into sub-provincial entities, as required by Hunting Wildlife Plan. The bill was approved in the last few hours and the text will now have to be examined by the Council Chamber.
What will happen specifically? The Scopes will become nine, a non-random number that corresponds to the territories of the old provinces (those of Prato and Florence have been merged). The proposal is a direct consequence of the recent sentence of the Constitutional Court: moreover, it was decided to focus on the last day of the year to ensure the business continuity.
Among other things, we must not forget that the Territorial Areas of Hunting are important to guarantee the compensation for damage caused by wildlife, therefore, farmers have also been thought of. The Region has also set other deadlines. In particular, the 30th November is the last day available to divide the agro-forestry-pastoral territory for hunting purposes, while December 31 will also be the deadline for appointment of management bodies. An amendment to expand the representation of associations with at least 3500 members was rejected.
