Roe deer and new hunting season
The Tuscany Region has approved the sampling plans and the relative hunting calendar of the roe deer species as regards the hunting season 2023-24. We are talking about the 14 species management districts in this territory, all subdivided by age group and sex.
Areas suitable and not
The local authority has established the following: without prejudice to hunting silence on Tuesdays and Fridays, it will be necessary to respect the following hunting calendar relating to the roe deer collection periods according to sex/age classes:
Vocated Areas
– adult and young males: from 1 June to 15 July, from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and, only in
land with vineyards, from 1 January to 15 April 2024;
- females: from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and from 1 January to 15 March 2024;
– small males: from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and from 1 January to 15 March 2024 and, only in
land with vineyards, from 16 March to 15 April 2024;
- female offspring: from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and from 1 January to 15 March 2024.
Non-Vocated Areas
– adult and young males: from 1 June to 15 July, from 15 August to 30 September 2023,
from 1 January to 15 April 2024;
- females: from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and from 1 January to 15 March 2024;
– small males: from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and from 1 January to 15 April 2024;
- female offspring: from 15 August to 30 September 2023 and from 1 January to 15 March 2024.
Other details
The Tuscany Region has also established that in the unsuitable areas forms of management of the withdrawal are put in place by the ATCs and the holders of UdGs which tend to concentrate it above all in the areas most affected by damage to agriculture (source: Tuscany Region).
